How to Test Events API Pixel Events In My Live Store

Introduction

You cannot use TikTok Ads Manager's “Test Events” feature to test Events API pixels installed via third-party apps like TiXel. This is because TikTok does not support test mode for pixels triggered through Shopify’s Web Pixels API.

How to Test Events API Pixel Events

Follow these steps to verify that your Events API pixel is triggering properly:

Click here to open your store’s Customer Events settings.

Locate the TiXel pixel and click the three dots (...) next to it.


Your store will open in a new tab and the Shopify Pixel Helper will appear. This window will show every pixel event triggered in real time.


Use the Shopify Pixel Helper in order to test View Content, Add To Cart, Initiate Checkout and Complete Payment events:
In order to test View Content events: Visit a product page in your store and search the Shopify Pixel Helper window for a product_viewed event.
In order to test Add To Cart events: Visit a product page in your store and add it to the cart, then search the Shopify Pixel Helper window for a product_added_to_cart event.
In order to test Initiate Checkout events: Visit a product page in your store and add it to the cart, then go to your cart and click on the checkout button. Then search the Shopify Pixel Helper window for a checkout_started event.
In order to test Complete Payment events: Visit a product page in your store and add it to the cart, then go to your cart and click on the checkout button. Then, place a test order until you reach the "Thank You" page (you can use a 100% test coupon if needed). Then search the Shopify Pixel Helper window for a checkout_completed event.

Click on any event name in the Pixel Helper window and then on the Show hyperlink under "Event data received" in order to view the event details like product ID, price, and currency.
