How to import Store Locations (Bulk Upload)
Introduction
Importing a large list of locations into Way: Google Maps Store Locator lets you add or update many store locations at once using a spreadsheet file. This is the fastest way to set up a large store locator - especially if you have dozens (or thousands) of locations.
Before you import
- Make sure your Store Locator is enabled in your theme (App Embed), so imported locations can display on the map.
- For best results, always start from the sample template to ensure your column headers match.
Supported file types
- CSV (.csv)
- Excel (.xls, .xlsx)
Step 1: Download the sample file
- Go to Store Locator Settings
- In Store Locations section click Import / Export
- Choose Import bulk locations
- Download the Sample file and fill it in
Or download here - sample file
Using the sample file ensures your column names and formatting are correct.
Step 2: Fill in your locations (one row = one location)
Columns in the sample file
Required
- title - Location name (e.g.,
Way Flagship Store) - country - Country name
- state - State / region / province
- city - City name
- street - Street address (include building number if possible)
Optional (recommended for accuracy / display)
- latitude - Decimal format (example:
40.741895) - longitude - Decimal format (example:
73.989308) - phone - Include country code if possible (example:
+1 415 555 1234) - imageURL - Public image link (must be accessible online) - Recommended size: 280x125px
Tip: Latitude/Longitude are not required. If you don’t include them, we’ll place the pin using the address. Add them only when you want 100% accuracy (or if a pin lands in the wrong spot).
Step 3: Upload and import
- In Store Locations section click Import / Export → Import bulk locations
- Upload your file
- Click Import
After import, your locations will appear in the Store Locations list.
Best practices (avoid errors)
- Keep the header row exactly the same as the sample file.
- Don’t merge cells or add extra header rows.
- Use one location per row.
- Use a real address (street + city + country). The more complete the address, the more accurate the pin.
