How to Create an Events API TikTok Pixel (In an Alternative TikTok Ads Dashboard)
Introduction
This guide walks you through the steps for creating an Events API TikTok Pixel and connecting it to your Shopify store using TiXel. This setup allows for more accurate and server-side event tracking.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Note: If for some reason the user interface that you are seeing in your TikTok Ads Dashboard appears differnetly than in the screenshots that you are seeing in this guide, please check the alternative guide
Before You Begin: Please be sure that you are logged-in to the TikTok Ads Manager as the account owner. Less-privileged accounts will receive an error when trying to connect the pixel with TiXel.
Important: Please make sure that the native TikTok Sales Channel is not installed in your store, as it may collide with TiXel's functionality.
Open the TikTok Ads Dashboard.

Hover your mouse over Tools in the top nav and click Events.

Click Connect Data Source in the top-right corner.

In the pop-up, select Web, then click Next.

Choose Manual Setup, then click Next.

Enter a unique name for your pixel, then click Next.

On the next screen, scroll down and click Skip step. TiXel will handle the configuration for you.

Click Confirm on the confirmation popup.

Make sure only Events API is selected (untick Custom Code), then click Next.

Click Finish at the bottom of the page.

Copy the Pixel ID shown at the top of the Pixel page.

In your Shopify admin, go to the TiXel dashboard and paste the Pixel ID in the Pixel ID field.

Return to the TikTok Pixel page and go to the Settings tab.

Scroll down and click Generate Access Token, then Copy the token.

Back in TiXel, paste the token into the Events API Access Token field.

Give your pixel a unique name, then click Add Pixel.
