How to Add the Terms and Conditions Checkbox to Shopify POS
Introduction
TnC offers official support for Shopify POS, allowing merchants to display a Terms and Conditions checkbox during in-person checkout. Follow the steps below to enable and use the integration on your POS device.
How to Add the TnC App to Your Shopify POS
- Open the Shopify POS app and go to the Smart Grid (home screen).
- Tap Add tile.
- Select App in the window that appears.
- Tap on TnC: Terms and Conditions Box.
- Next to Agree to Terms and Conditions, tap the blue Add button.
- Tap Save at the top of the screen to confirm the tile placement.
- Tap the new Agree to Terms and Conditions tile on your Smart Grid to launch the TnC extension.
- The Terms and Conditions text will appear. Tapping any links in the text will open them in a mini browser window within POS.
How to Use the Checkbox During Checkout
- Before beginning checkout, tap the Agree to Terms and Conditions tile.
- A window with your Terms and Conditions and policy links will appear.
- Ask the customer to tap Agree & Close to provide consent.
- Once tapped, the window will close, and the consent (date and time) will be recorded.
Where to View Customer Consent
You can find the customer's agreement details under the Additional Details section of the order in your Shopify admin. The timestamp of the consent is stored there for your records.
Can A Checkbox Component Appear In Checkout?
Unfortunately Shopify POS does not support adding 3rd party UI components to the actual Checkout screen - only via App Tiles.
