Does The Timer Hold Inventory While Items Are in the Cart?
Introduction
The Rushy Scarcity Countdown Timer is designed to drive urgency and boost conversions—but it does not hold or physically reserve inventory for products added to the cart, meaning that other customers will still be able to purchase the item while it is in the cart of a certain customer. However, Rushy is capable of deleting the customer's cart when a given timeframe is up.
How It Works
The timer creates a psychological sense of Scarcity, encouraging customers to complete their purchase quickly. It does not lock inventory or prevent other customers from purchasing the same product at the same time, as from our experience such behaviour is a known conversion-killer and is generally a bad practice.
Deleting Customers Carts
You can configure the timer to delete the customers cart when the timer hit 00:00 in order to encourage them to place the order within the given timeframe. Such functionality can significantly improve the conversion rate, and can also release the item from the customer's cart if they haven't purchased it within the given time.
Follow these steps in order to activate the cart deletion feature:
Click here and open the Rushy Scarcity Countdown Timer app dashboard.
Navigate to the Appearance Rules settings tab, then scroll down until you reach to the Additional timer functionality section.
Set the When the timer ends setting to Delete all the items in the cart

Click on the Save button that will appear at the top of the screen in order to apply your changes.

Conclusion
While the timer doesn’t hold inventory, it’s a highly effective tool for increasing urgency and motivating faster checkouts—especially during high-demand periods.
