How to create a Google Pixel?

Introduction

The TiXel app allows you to easily track user events and gain valuable insights into your store's traffic by integrating Google Analytics 4 (GA4). This guide will walk you through how to set up a GA4 account, find your Measurement ID and Measurement Protocol API Secret, and configure them within the TiXel app.

Follow these steps to set up your GA4 tracking:

If you already have a GA4 property set up for your store, you can skip to Part 2.

Part 1: Create a GA4 Property and Data Stream

  1. Open Google Analytics: Navigate to Google Analytics and log in with your Google account.
  2. Go to Admin Settings: In the bottom left corner of the screen, click on the Admin gear icon.

  1. Create a Property: In the central dashboard area, click the blue Create **button and then click **Property.

  1. Fill in Property Details: Give your property a name (e.g., "My Shopify Store GA4"), select your reporting time zone, and choose your currency. Click Next.
  2. Select Business Details: Fill out your industry category and business size, choose your business objectives, and click Create.
  3. Set up a Data Stream: You will be prompted to choose a platform. Select Web.
  4. Enter Website Info: Type in your Shopify store's URL and give the stream a name. Make sure "Enhanced measurement" is toggled on, then click Create stream.

Part 2: Find Your GA4 Measurement ID and API Secret

  1. Navigate to Data Streams: In the bottom left corner, click the Admin gear icon. Under the Data collection and modification section, click on Data Streams.

  1. Copy the Measurement ID: Click on your website's data stream. In the Web stream details panel, look for the Measurement ID in the top right (this always starts with G-, e.g., G-XXXXXXXXXX). Copy this ID to your clipboard.

  1. Generate the API Secret: Scroll down the same Web stream details panel and click on Measurement Protocol API secrets.

  1. Create and Copy the Secret: Review the terms if prompted, then click the Create button. Give your secret a nickname (like "TiXel App"), click create, and then copy the generated Secret value.

Part 3: Add GA4 to TiXel

  1. Open TiXel Settings: Go to your TiXel app dashboard and click on All Pixels from the navigation menu.

  1. Add a New Pixel: Click on the Add Pixel button to start setting up a new integration.

  1. Select the Platform: Choose Google Analytics 4 from the grid of available advertising platforms.

  1. Configure Pixel Settings:
    • Paste the Measurement ID (G-XXXXXXXXXX) you copied earlier into the first field.
    • Paste your API Secret into the second field.
    • Give your setup a recognizable Pixel Name.
    • Choose whether to apply the tracking to all products or only specific ones, then click save.

Conclusion

By connecting Google Analytics 4 through TiXel, you capture highly accurate, server-side data, ensuring reliable event tracking to help you understand your customers and improve your store's performance.
