How to Add Multiple Links (and Checkbox Limitations)

Introduction

The TnC: Terms and Conditions Box app does not currently support adding multiple checkboxes. This limitation is intentional, as adding too many checkboxes can negatively impact the checkout experience and may reduce conversion rates. However, you can still provide multiple policy references by adding several clickable links within a single Terms and Conditions text section.


This guide explains how to add multiple links inside your checkbox text.


Why Multiple Checkboxes Are Not Supported

At the moment, only one checkbox can be displayed at checkout. This approach helps keep the checkout process simple and improves customer completion rates.


Instead of multiple checkboxes, the app allows you to include multiple hyperlinks in the same Terms and Conditions message.


You can add links such as Privacy Policy, Return Policy, or Terms of Service inside your checkbox text by using the Rich Text Editor.

Follow these steps:

  1. Open your Shopify admin dashboard and go to the TnC app settings
  2. Navigate to the Checkbox Settings page
  3. Scroll to the Terms and Conditions Text section
  4. Make sure the Rich Text Editor is enabled. (If it is not enabled, select the option to switch to the Rich Text Editor)

  1. Highlight the text you want to turn into a link
  2. Click the link icon in the editor toolbar

  1. In the URL field, paste the destination link for the selected policy page
  2. Click Save to confirm the link
  3. Save your overall changes to apply them to your store

Best Practice Tip

You can add multiple links by repeating the same process for different parts of your text. Each policy can have its own clickable section within the same checkbox description.
