Conversion Events Are Not Triggering for Third-Party Payment Processors
Introduction
If you're using a third-party payment processor (like Revolut, Checkify, etc.) and notice that conversion events aren't triggering, this is due to how these processors handle checkout sessions. This guide explains the limitation and what you can do about it.
Why This Happens
TiXel relies on Shopify's native checkout to trigger conversion events like Purchase events (Complete Payment). When a customer uses a third-party processor:
They're redirected off-site to complete payment.
That redirect breaks the tracking flow required for TikTok pixel events.
As a result, TiXel cannot detect or trigger the conversion event.
What You Can Do
If you're using a third-party payment provider:
Reach out to their support team and ask if they offer native TikTok pixel support or a way to fire custom tracking events.
If conversion tracking is critical to your marketing efforts, consider using a Shopify-supported payment method that completes transactions within your store.
Conclusion
TiXel cannot track purchases made through off-site payment gateways. For full conversion tracking, ensure your checkout flow is compatible with Shopify’s Web Pixels API.
