Instagram Feed: User data deletion instructions

Introduction

If you, or someone acting on your behalf wishes to delete the data connected to our app, this article explains how to remove it permanently.


How to delete it?

Any one of these removes the data permanently:


1. Disconnect from the widget settings. In the Wix Editor, open the widget's settings, go to the Instagram tab and click Disconnect this account. The connection, the token and every cached post are deleted immediately.


2. Remove the app from Instagram. Open Instagram, go to Settings → Apps and websites, and remove Instagram Followers Counter. Instagram notifies us, and we delete your information automatically.


3. Uninstall the app from your Wix site. Removing the app from your site deletes your Instagram connection along with the rest of your app data.


Please note:

  1. Deletion is immediate and automatic in all three cases.
  2. Once deleted, the information cannot be restored. Reconnecting your account starts fresh.
  3. Your posts themselves are stored by Instagram, not by us. Deleting a post on Instagram removes it from your feed at the next sync. To delete information Instagram holds about you, contact Instagram or Meta directly.


Requesting deletion through Meta

If you submit a data deletion request through Meta rather than through the app, we handle it automatically. Meta sends us the request, we delete the data, and we return a confirmation.
