How to create a blank "Blocked" page on your WiX site

Introduction

Blocky allows you to redirect restricted visitors to a dedicated “Blocked” page, where you can display a custom message. Creating a blank page without a header or footer gives you full control over the design and ensures a clean, focused experience for blocked users.

This guide walks you through creating and configuring your blocked page in Wix.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Open the Wix Editor

2. Open Pages & Menu

  • In the editor, click “Pages” from the left-hand panel.

3. Add a New Page

  • Click the blue “+ Add Page” button.
  • Select “Blank Page”.

4. Name the Page

  • Enter the name “Blocked Page”.
  • Click “Done”.

5. Hide the Page from Navigation

  • Click the three dots (•••) next to the page name.
  • Select “Settings”.
  • Toggle “Hide from menu” to keep the page hidden from visitors.

  • In the settings panel, go to the “Layouts” tab.

  • Select “No Header & Footer” to create a clean, distraction-free page.

7. Design Your Page

  • Add your custom message, styling, and elements.
  • This is the page visitors will see when access is restricted.

8. Publish Your Page

  • Click the blue “Publish” button at the top of the editor.

Configure Blocky Redirection

If You Named the Page “Blocked Page”

  • No additional setup is required.
  • Blocky will automatically redirect users to this page.

If You Used a Different Name

  1. Go back to Menus & Pages.
  2. Open the page Settings and navigate to the SEO basics tab.
  3. Copy the URL slug under “What’s the URL slug?”.
  4. Open the Blocky app dashboard.
  5. Paste the slug into the Blocked Page URL setting.
