# How to Create an Events API TikTok Pixel

## Introduction
This guide walks you through the steps for creating an **Events API TikTok Pixel** and connecting it to your Shopify store using **TiXel**. This setup allows for more accurate and server-side event tracking.

## Step-by-Step Instructions 


||| **Before You Begin:** Please be sure that you are logged-in to the TikTok Ads Manager as the __account owner__. Less-privileged accounts will receive an error when trying to connect the pixel with TiXel.

| **Important:** Please make sure that the native __TikTok Sales Channel is not installed in your store__, as it may collide with TiXel's functionality.

1. Open the [TikTok Ads Dashboard](https://ads.tiktok.com/i18n/home).

2. Hover your mouse over **Tools** in the top nav and click **Events**.

3. Click **Connect Data Source** (top right).

4. Select **Web** and click **Next**.

5. Enter your **Store's URL** and click **Next**.

6. Choose **Manual Setup** and click **Next**.

7. Choose **Events API** and click **Next**.

8. Give your pixel a unique **name**, then click **Create**.

9. Hover your mouse over '***Add to wishlist***', '***Search***', '***Add payment info***', '***Place an Order***' and '***Complete Registration***' funnel events and **delete** them, then click **Next.**

10. Copy the **Pixel ID**.

11. Go to **TiXel** in your Shopify admin and paste the Pixel ID.

12. Return to TikTok Ads Manager and click **Generate Access Token**. Copy the token.

13. Go back to **TiXel** and paste the token in the **Events API Access Token** field.

14. Enter a name for your pixel and click **Add Pixel**.

15. In TikTok Ads Manager, click **Next**, then **Finish**.
